Got a Question?
What kind of training do the coaches have?
All our teams have at least one FA Level One qualified coach as a minimum, which includes the FA's full Safeguarding training and their Introduction to First Aid in Football certificate. All coaches and any additional helpers also hold a valid CRC certificate.
As a club we take Child Welfare very seriously and so we've made a further commitment to Essex FA that everyone involved with the club will complete the FA Safeguarding qualification by the end of the 2018/19 season.
How much does it cost?
We have worked hard to keep football affordable, and as a result we're one of the best value clubs in the district at just £100 signing on fee for a full season of football.
Are there any additional costs?
Any additional costs are exactly that - extras that our low fee doesn't cover.
So that's a kit - the basic kit is just under £36 for a fantastic quality shirt, shorts and socks - and then things like appropriate footwear and shin-pads (compulsory).
As teams progress through the age groups there will inevitably be the need to collect a few extra pounds here and there to pay for referees and other match-day costs, but we only ever collect what we need to cover what we're paying out - we run the club for pleasure not profit.
How does my child join a team?
As a club we're open to all., but we only have a limited number of spaces of course, so in the first instance the best thing to do is get in touch with the relevant age group directly to find out if there's a space.
If there's room in the squad, we generally encourage new players to join a training session or two first to see if they (and you) like the club - it goes without saying we're a great club, but different people have different expectations, priorities and needs.
If everyone's happy, talk to the coach about signing on and they'll tell you what you need to do... please make sure you do this first because it will speed up the whole process with our Registration Secretary if the coach is expecting a new player to sign and so can let the Secretary know in advance.
Can I hire the 4G pitch?
Yes, the pitch is available to hire for parties and private sessions, along with the hall and kitchens if required, and members of the Sports & Social Club / Writtle Minors are able to hire at a discounted rate. All bookings are handled by the Sports & Social Club - click the button to send them an email enquiry.
